On Saturday 17 June 2023, the Housing Justice Network held a conference in Manchester city centre, where we asked:
- Why is good quality housing so scarce and expensive?
- How do we control landlords and fight gentrification?
- How can we build an anti-racist housing movement?
- How can we work together to beat the broken housing system?
Attendees and speakers from across the UK and Ireland were invited, including from tenants unions like Living Rent, Acorn, London Renters’ Union and Ireland’s CATU. We had a brilliant day of conversations about challenging evictions, combining law and campaigning, anti-racism, asylum seeker housing, horizons for the housing movement, and much more. We are proud to continue to work across our organisations and together for housing justice.
